Random Monday Morning Thoughts

January 16th, 2012

There are 4 teams left playing in the NFL. Would you have thought the Packers and Saints would both be left out? With two of the best defenses in the league still in there, could we see a Harbowl between Jim and John in the Superbowl?

We were wrong about the Packers. They folded. Three fumbles probably should have been 4 and 6 dropped passes is inexcusable. The Packers are the better team, but the Giants were the better team last night. That’s why they play the game.

Indiana had 14 points at half-time at Ohio State yesterday. The Buckeyes “held on” to their 21 point lead to exact revenge on the Hoosiers.

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day! As we thank MLK for all he accomplished, can we all agree that a day off from work and some day basketball is a sweet deal?

The Spurs are now 9-0 at home and 0-4 on the road.

The Wizards host the 5-7 Rockets, who have won their last 3 contests, but are 1-6 on the road, at 2:00. Can Washington pick up their 2nd win?

How have the Clippers only played 9 games when everyone else has played 12-14?

The Lakers host the defending champs tonight. The hip new thing is to guess how much Kobe will score. I’m going 38. How about you? Did you know Kobe’s middle name is “Bean?”

Jermaine O’Neal has a really big forehead. And why does he always look puzzled?

Kansas hosts Baylor tonight and Marquette hosts Louisville at 3:30.

Fatty, AKA “Bartolo Colon,” signed a 1 year contract with the Athletics. The Yankees have effectively slimmed down their pitching staff.

The Nationals signed Gio Gonzalez to a long term contract. What’s this new thing with a Washington area team actually trying to win? Seems weird.

32 Days until Pitchers and Catchers report to Spring Training!
